Capacity Building Workshops: Introduction to Outcomes-Based Contracting

We were delighted to host the first of our free capacity building sessions on outcomes contracting alongside Village Enterprise on May 16th.

During this session titled 'Introduction to Outcomes Based Contracting,' our CEO, Richard Johnson, drew upon his extensive experience in chairing a number of social impact bonds and overseeing large-scale outcome-based contracts. He provided his perspective on how outcomes-based contracting can effectively tackle the challenges posed by traditional fee-for-service models, and deliver greater impact.

We were privileged to also hear from Village Enterprise, a nonprofit dedicated to ending extreme poverty in rural Africa through entrepreneurship and innovation. Village Enterprise introduced their poverty graduation program which equips people living in extreme poverty with the resources to start businesses and saving groups. This comprehensive program includes training, mentoring, a conditional cash transfer and access to financial institutions and markets. Village Enterprise also highlighted their how they incorporate outcomes-based models in their work, including their implementation of a development impact bond.

For those who missed the event, we are pleased to inform you that the recording and presentation are now available on our website.
