Capacity Building Workshops: Performance Management

Connecting spend with delivery - which ultimately minimizes waste and maximizes service impact - is partly about getting the contract right. A good outcomes contract is clear and simple, and closely aligns everyone's incentives. But it doesn't stop there! Sustaining a performance-driven culture is essential once the service is up and running. Robust performance management is the key to ongoing success.

During the session, we explored the key concepts of 'performance' and 'performance management,' focusing on the principles that drive high performance and the tools for improvement. Our CEO, Richard Johnson, shared insightful examples of successfully managing performance across various contracts and fostering a performance-driven culture.

We were thrilled to have Social Finance join us and present two case studies on performance management. The first case study highlighted their Kangaroo Mother Care impact bond, which aimed to deliver improved Neo-natal outcomes in Cameroon. The second case study showcased their Individual Placement and Support impact bond, targeting improved employment outcomes for individuals with severe mental health conditions.

For those who couldn't attend or wish to revisit the session, we have made the recording and presentation available on our website.
