Capacity Building Workshop 2 - Building Effective Performance Management in Outcomes-Based Contracts

Connecting spend with delivery - which ultimately minimizes waste and maximizes service impact - is partly about getting the contract right. A good outcomes contract is clear and simple, and closely aligns everyone's incentives. But it doesn't stop there! Sustaining a performance-driven culture is essential once the service is up and running. Robust performance management is the key to ongoing success.

During this session, we delve into what we mean with 'performance' and 'performance management.' We highlight the drivers of high performance, characteristics of effective management, and tools for improvement. Our CEO, Richard Johnson, shares insights from managing performance across various contracts and embedding performance culture. Social Finance, with their expertise in implementing performance management systems for outcomes contracts and Impact Bonds, also shares their wisdom.

This session may be of interest to policy makers, commissioners, contract managers, service designers, service providers, funders and investors. The services/contracts discussed will be from around the world and across different sectors, with a focus on vulnerable communities.
